Do I have to pay to participate?

Participating in the hackathon as a Thinker is free of charge, however, a no-show fee of €50,00 applies.

Anyone with an innovative mindset is welcome to paritcipate. Whether you are a seasoned logistics professional, a student or an IT startup, … Everyone is welcome to participate as a Thinker!

Who can attend the gala?

Gala access is not included for Thinkers and Visitors. The winners of each challenge can attend the gala for free. Shippers, logistics service providers, people hiring new talent, … are invited to book their gala seats:

Do I need to be a developer / programmer?

No! This hackathon is not focused on code. The challenges aim to find innovative solutions for logistics and supply chain issues.

We cannot provide coverage for travel expenses, however, we have outlined options for travel and accommodation in all price categories

Teams & registration

How do I register my team on Eventbrite?

When placing your order as a Thinker, you will be prompted to delect “Individual” or “Team”. Select “Team” and complete the further steps.

What happens if I don’t register my team?

If you place an order for multiple people, intending to form a team and choose “Individual” instead of “Team” when promoted, everyone will be registered individually. You can create your team in Eventbrite afterwards.If you don’t everyone will be registered as an individual and will have to form a group during the event or through the Facebook group.

I ordered individual tickets instead of using the Team feature. Can I still register my team?

Absolutely! Follow these instructions:

Can I change the name on my ticket?

Yes, you can change the name on your ticket until 4 weeks before the event.

How to update your information

Can I add people in my team?

When your new team members order their ticket on Eventbrite, they should select “Team” when promoted. There, they can enter your team name (and password if you enabled this option).

How many spaces are available?

There are tickets for 30 teams. 5 teams compete for each challenge. Each team has a maximum of 5 members.

Can I register individually?

Yes, you can! When promoted to choose “Individual” or “Team” during registration, select “Individual”. You will then team up with other individual registrants on Wednesday.

Is there a minimum and maximum # of team members?

Yes. Teams have minimum 3 and maximum 5 members. You will not be able to register more than 5 members in your team on Eventbrite. If you register a team with 1 or 2 people, you will have to pair up with other individual registrants on Wednesday, 27th November. You can also find a team to join through the Facebook group.

Challenges

Can I already claim my team’s spot for a specific challenge?

No. On Wednesday, November 27 the challenges will be open on a first come, first serve basis. Those who arrive early, will have more challenges to choose from as there are only 5 team spots per challenge.

How many challenges can our team work on?

You can work on 1 challenge, for which you can claim your seat during check-in.

What about intellectual property?

The ideas remain yours (your team’s). Partnering companies of the hackathon (e.g. sponsors, challenge partners and gala attendees, …) are allowed to use your ideas to inspire future projects.
