DESIGN OR REDESIGN OF SUPPLY CHAIN CONCEPTS FOR CENTRAL AND EASTERN EUROPE
For 25 years Soudal is present in Poland. First with a distribution center, located near Warsaw (in Czosnow). From here Soudal delivers products within Poland, but also to the surrounding countries (within and outside of the EU). This distribution center has the function of a hub in Eastern Europe. 10 years ago Soudal also built a factory (greenfield) for the production of PU foam in Pionki. This factory is the main supplier for PU foam for the Polish hub, but also produces for other countries which can be supplied directly (depending on the volumes). In the same area, a production company for adhesives was bought only 5 years ago (2 separate production sites). Today this company produces for the Soudal Group but also has an own brand with direct delivery to customers from their warehouses.
The current situation has some disadvantages, we need to reorganize the current setup and we need more warehouse and production space to be able to support our growth. The current buildings have physical limitations. Time to evaluate, think about alternative solutions to further integrate and try to find possible ways to optimize.
